Humankindness in Action Award Recipient Jed York

Chief Executive Officer, San Francisco 49ers

Jed York is the CEO of the San Francisco 49ers. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Finance and History and began his career as a financial analyst for Guggenheim Partners in New York City. Jed joined the family business as the 49ers' Director of Strategic Planning, later becoming the Team President and, ultimately, the 49ers Chief Executive Officer. His professional successes are well known throughout the nation.

CommonSpirit Health Foundation is excited to celebrate Jed’s contributions off the field. As a founding member of our foundation, Jed has served as chairman of the board since 2013. Under his tireless leadership, the Foundation has helped advance critical healthcare issues related to concussion education, maternal mental health, human trafficking response, access to increased mental health resources, and so many more.

Jed is also a dedicated champion for other organizations. He has served on the board of the Tipping Point Community, the Commonwealth Club, the Silicon Valley Leadership Group, the Bay Area Council, and numerous other organizations. In 2012 Fortune magazine named Jed
to its “40 under 40” rising young executives list. And he recently received the Commonwealth Club of California’s prestigious Distinguished
Citizen Award which honors pioneering thought leaders in the arts, academia, business, philanthropy, and other fields.

A family man first, Jed and his wife, Danielle, devote tremendous time and love to their two beautiful sons, Jaxon and Brixton. By example, they are showing them how to create a lasting legacy within their community.

Jed truly epitomizes Humankindness in all that he does. It is a privilege to honor him with the CommonSpirit Health Humankindness in Action award.
